Here’s how it works:
What loan amounts are available?
With a loan approval rate of at least 80% or higher, as a national average, most clients will qualify for the maximum PreFUND amount of $750. Some clients who don’t qualify for the full amount may receive a reduced amount of $400 or may be declined.
How much does PreFUND cost?
PreFUND is free for clients. No application or interest fees.
When is PreFUND available?
PreFUND is available from the first day of filing through the end of February.
When are the loans issued?
PreFUND loans are approved upon IRS accepted acknowledgement (ACK) with funds disbursed within 24 hours of loan approval.
Do clients need good credit to qualify?
Loan approval is based on factors within the tax return.
How will clients receive the PreFUND loan?
Clients will leave the tax office with a Green Dot Card in hand. Funds for the loan amount will be loaded onto the client’s card upon loan approval. The refund proceeds may be disbursed to the customer by all traditional RT disbursement methods which include deposit to Green Dot Card, check printed in the ERO office, direct deposit or Walmart Direct2Cash.
How is the loan repaid?
The PreFUND is automatically repaid when the IRS disburses the tax refund into the refund transfer account for clients who elect to repay theirPreFUND from a Refund Transfer account. Purchase of a fee-based refund transfer account is not
required.
